# Welcome to Proposal

## Overview

Proposal is where your team builds each response, from the solicitation to a finished proposal. GovDash reads the solicitation, builds a compliant outline and writes your draft from your past performance, key personnel and capture answers.

To open Proposal, select **Proposal** under **Modules** in the left side panel. **Active Proposals** lists every proposal your team is working on. Use **Drafts** for proposals you haven't finished setting up and **Archive** for proposals with an outcome. To learn your way around the list, see [Proposal Dashboard](/v1/docs/proposal-dashboard).

## Find What You Need

The Proposal articles follow the order your team works. Find the task you want to do, then open its article.

### Set Up Proposal (Admins)

- Get your company's Word template (.docx) ready for GovDash downloads: [Proposal Template Requirements](/v1/docs/proposal-template-requirements)
- Control who can open each module and change settings with roles in **Settings** > **Access & permissions** > **Roles**. ### Starting a Proposal
