GovDash Onboarding Process Overview
GovDash onboarding is a structured, five session process designed to ensure successful adoption across capture, proposal, and contract workflows. The full onboarding typically spans four weeks and includes setup, foundational training, and targeted deep dives, with a final fifth session to introduce you to your dedicated Account Manager.
Session 1: Kickoff & Account Setup (30 Minutes)
Recommended Participants: Champions from Proposals, Capture/BD, Contracts, Leadership, and IT
In this session, we’ll introduce the structure of your onboarding journey and outline the training sessions ahead, including recommended attendees. We’ll walk through setting up available integrations, make sure your designated champions are added to the platform, and show them how to invite their teams. You’ll be connected with our Help Center and Help Desk resources, and we’ll align on your goals and success metrics. We’ll also cover test proposal requirements, review a past proposal example for context, and explain how live bid support works during onboarding. Lastly, we’ll wrap up by sending a session summary and your first training calendar invite.
Session 2: Foundations & Contract Cloud (60 Minutes)
Recommended Participants: All onboarding participants (contracts team strongly recommended)
This session provides new participants with an overview of GovDash and its role as a complete operating system for managing the full government contracting lifecycle. We'll take a deep dive into the Contract Cloud and Data Library modules, highlighting how accurate past performance and data fuels success across other areas of the platform. You'll see how the Contract Cloud and Data Library seamlessly connect with Capture, Proposal, and Dash tools, and we’ll emphasize the value of building out robust libraries to maximize platform benefits.
Session 3: Capture Cloud, Pipeline, and Dash (60 Minutes)
Recommended Participants: Capture and Proposal teams
In this session, you'll get an in-depth look at GovDash’s Capture Cloud and Pipeline tools. We’ll cover how Bid Match prioritizes opportunities using data from Contract Cloud, how Dash supports data calls and capture processes, capability matrices, gate reviews, solution shaping, and how Pre-RFP features prepare your team ahead of an RFP drop. Finally, we’ll walk through how GovDash ensures a smooth transition from capture to proposal with full visibility across teams.
Session 4: Proposal Cloud & Test Proposal Review (60–90 Minutes)
Recommended Participants: Proposal team and key contributors
This session focuses on how to effectively use GovDash to build high-quality proposals. We’ll review your test proposal within the platform and demonstrate how writing plans are generated directly from real RFP instructions. You'll see a comparison of content written with and without GovDash’s guided support, and learn how structured pink team drafts streamline early reviews. We'll also highlight compatibility with SharePoint for collaboration and introduce the Word Assistant, your tool for improving content, ensuring substantiation, and improving formatting.
Session 5: Ongoing Success Planning & Account Manager Transition (30 Minutes)
Recommended Participants: Champions from Proposals, Capture/BD, Contracts, Leadership
In this closing session, we’ll address any final questions and introduce your dedicated Account Manager. We’ll establish the ongoing support cadence post-onboarding and align on any upcoming live bids or additional support your team may need as you transition into full platform usage.
Why Do We Run Test Proposals?
The best way to learn how to align your BD and proposal management processes with GovDash is starting from a familiar reference point. By seeing how we recreate your submitted proposal within GovDash, you’ll understand how to best leverage the tools at your disposal to save the most time when working towards your final submission.
Pick a Proposal
We recommend choosing a previously submitted proposal that you are most familiar with from a content and past performance standpoint. This ensures that you have a firm understanding of the material and how this translates to key areas within GovDash’s proposal process. This does not have to be a proposal that you have won!
Provide us with Past Performance & Key Personnel
In order to successfully run this test proposal through GovDash, we will need the contract documents associated with the past performance referenced in the proposal, and any key personnel resumes for key personnel used within the proposal.
We’ll Work Our Magic
Once we have your proposal, contract documents, and key personnel resumes, we will deconstruct your proposal, upload your data, and work our magic to get your proposal transposed directly into GovDash!
Reviewing the Test Proposal
During our fourth onboarding session, we will deep dive into the test proposal within GovDash with you and your team to show exactly where the information within your proposal was utilized, review critical sections to show how GovDash structures your content, and more. We aim for this to be the light-bulb moment where you’ll understand how your existing processes and GovDash align!
