Another data call, another table, another scramble.
If you’re used to pulling past performance blurbs from old docs, trying to remember which contract applies, reformatting in Excel, and chasing down teammates for missing info, you’re in good company. It’s a common pain.
But GovDash makes this way easier. With the Word Assistant, you can fill out even the most detailed data calls right in the document, with fully sourced info pulled straight from your past performance in GovDash.
Using Word Assistant for Data Calls
Use the Word Assistant to generate strong, substantiated responses to data calls right where you're working.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Open the file you were sent. If it’s a Word document, you’re good to go. If it’s Excel, just copy and paste the table into Word so you can work there more easily, then paste it back when you’re done. Next, open the Word Assistant.
2. Highlight the question you need to answer. Something like:
“Describe your experience with data analysis in support of public health research initiatives.”
3. Click “Substantiate” in the Word Assistant.
GovDash will search across your past performance, find relevant examples, and generate a metrics-backed response that reflects exactly where your company has done that work before. It also shows you the source contracts from your Contract Cloud, so you can see which projects it’s referencing if you want to cite them.

Want to Share a Capabilities Summary Instead?
Upload the PWS into Capture Cloud and head to the Capabilities tab. Click “Generate” and GovDash will automatically assess your past performance against the PWS requirements. You’ll get a summary rating, plus the option to drill into the details or export a matrix to share with teaming partners.
Need a Head Start on the Whole Data Call?
You can upload the full data call into GovDash and let Dash take a first pass. It’ll generate a draft using your company’s full contract inventory, which you can then open in Word and refine using the Assistant.
Why It Matters
Data calls are fast-moving and high-stakes, especially when you’re a sub. Your partners are trying to pull together their proposal, and they’re counting on you to deliver clear, accurate info they can plug in without rework.
The Word Assistant helps you do just that. You get responses that are grounded in real performance, with sources to back them up. And it all happens inside the workspace you’re already using.
Less time hunting. Less chance of errors. More time to focus on strategy.
