GovDash Pricer is the pricing engine inside GovDash. It helps you build structured contract pricing by connecting labor assumptions, indirect rates, and CLIN level totals in one place.
Instead of managing separate spreadsheets for labor, burden, and line items, Pricer keeps everything aligned automatically.
This article will walk you through how each part of Pricer works and how the tabs connect.
How Pricer Is Organized
GovDash Pricer is divided into the following main areas:
Overview — Set contract-level assumptions including contract type, periods, escalation, and target fee. The values entered here flow into every other tab.
Work Breakdown Structure — Review and refine the WBS that Pricer synthesizes from the solicitation, and capture basis-of-estimate metadata for each work package.
Labor Categories — Manage labor roles, rates, hours, and work package allocations.
ODCs & Materials — Maintain non-labor costs including travel, subcontracts, materials, and other direct costs.
Indirect Rates — Configure your wrap rate structure and fee.
Basis of Estimate — Review labor and non-labor rows by work package, finalize cost entry, and export the full BOE grid.
Line Items — Build contract line items and totals for the proposal pricing format.
There is also a Pricing Settings area where teams can create reusable indirect rate templates.
Each tab builds on the others, and updates in one area automatically flow through the rest of your pricing model.
Typical Workflow
While the order can vary depending on the opportunity, most pricing efforts in Pricer follow a similar rhythm:
Initialize the workbook. Once your opportunity has documents loaded, the initialization step extracts labor categories, synthesizes the work breakdown structure, identifies ODCs, and assigns each to the relevant work packages. This typically takes a few minutes.
Validate the WBS. Review the synthesized structure in the Work Breakdown Structure tab. Adjust nodes, capture inclusions and exclusions, and mark each work package as cost entry ready when its scope is finalized.
Refine labor and non-labor costs. Use the Labor Categories and ODCs & Materials tabs to set rates, allocate hours, and assign items to work packages.
Configure indirect rates. Build your wrap stack in the Indirect Rates tab. Burdened rates update automatically across labor categories when auto-calculation is enabled.
Finalize in the Basis of Estimate. Review the cost rollup per work package, make final adjustments, and export the grid for proposal handoff or internal review.
Build line items. Use the Line Items tab to structure CLIN-level output for the submission package.
